Working as an interior designer for over ten years, Sarah-Jane is interested in the creation of unique works of art that fit harmoniously and sympathetically within their specific interiors.
Sarah-Jane is inspired initially in the infinite forms and surfaces of the natural world, and then juxtaposes these with the lines and finishes of manmade design in surprising and tangible ways.
The use of manufactured and organic textures are explored by unique palette techniques and experimental layering of paint - creating canvases that are inherently tactile. The surface invites the audience in, offering a particular and intimate experience to each person and working against the established gallery norm of viewer and art separation.
